subtitles won`t transfer

I added subs to a movie with subtitle workshop and they show up on the movie in the computer, but when i try to convert the movie to KVCD with acp or Tmpg the subs don`t transfer to the finished movie.Any help greatley appreciated THANX SCRUFFER

Having never done this i went to FILE load subtitles and the program just started.When i played the movie back on the computer the subs showed up so i assumed it was done.When i converted the movie the subs wern`t there.I finally did it with V-DUB but still would like to know what happened.THANX SCRUFFER
