I am trying to increase the volume on a video file that I have with ac3 audio. The volume is too low. I am using Nandub, and I go to Audio>Full processing mode. However, when I hit save as avi, I get an error saying "ACM failed to suggest audio decompression format".

Is there an option to change the audio decompression format? Or is it just not possible to increase the volume using Nandub? If so, what software do i use to increase the gain?

The audio is 48000HZ. I cannot do this with virtualDubMod because it doesn't even have the audio menu. And virtualDub doesn't support ac3. Is there a way to do this with virtualDubMod? I am confused because of the lack of an audio menu and I couldn't find anything relevant in any of the other menu items.

So I guess my question is, how do i specify which audio ac3 decompression format I should use? Thanks.

Open in VirtualDubMod .avi or .mpeg video file.
Left click on STREAMS> left click on stream list> right click on audio stream or if any click on ADD...

no, it is not possible.

use ac3 playback filters of your choice, with some good filter you can change the dinamics, volume, ect.
(like for example http://ac3filter.sourceforge.net/ )
