Hello,
I was using virtualDubMod to make a matroska file. Yeterday i decided to use mkvtoolnix v0.9.7 for the first time.
I muxed the file with video,audio,subs and chapters which I loaded in
OGM format. The problem is that the muxed file i got did not have any chapters at all. I use BSplayer 1.0.2
I have to say that with virtualdubmod the chapters did exist.
Any thoughts??:(

BSPlayer doesn't recognize chapters muxed into OGM or MKV. If you want see them, try an another player like MPC, TCMP or create directly a chapters file for BSPlayer like this by example :
[ChaptersX]
1=00:00:00 Chapter 1
2=00:02:15 Chapter 2
....
Then, save it with .chf extension which is completely different from ogm chapters files.

If the file does contain chapters, and MPC is enable to display it, BSPlayer should, even if it's xml or OGM or other chapter formats, i think...

Ok but the porblem occured when i muxed with mkvtoolnix 0.9.7 which has libebml 0.7.4 libmatroska 0.7.2 (or reversed i am not sure).
VirtualDubMod was using libebml and libmatroska 0.6.x (i don't remeber the exact)and BSPlayer was showing Chapter correctly (although i rarely had some runtime errors when changing chapters)
So I guess the problem might be somewhere there...

Are you using mkvmerge GUI 0.9.7? If so, are you adding the chapters file in the "Input" tab? IF SO, it won't work that way ; you need to add the chapters file by going to the "Global" tab and use the "Chapters" section.
I use this GUI to generate my MKV with 1xAVI, 1xAC3, 3-4xsubs and chapters and with MPC it works like a charm!
Hope it helps!

Thank u thank u thank u :D it worked.
What i did was to load the chapters to the chapter editor and not in the "global Section" Now everything is fine just fine..
