View Full Version : Can't open AVI?

I have several XVid AVI files, with AC3 audio, that I encoded using AutoGK set to Maximum quality. I would now like to send a few of these over to a friend of mine in Iraq, but to minimize the number of DVD disks I need to use I'd like to downsample them to about 1GB each. I read the Doom9 guide and it said to use Gordian Knot. So I downloaded and installed the latest version. However when I attempt to load the files I get an error...

"File is not a valid dv2 project, avi or avs file!"

does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks,
Dan

This is a known problem, and there is a circumvention.

See http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=76761

[Edit]This is probably the 3rd time this week this question has been asked. It's now a sticky.
