I'm trying to convert AVI to DVD and i run into 2 problems. The first error i get is this:

EGpHugeFile TGpHugeFile(F:\Movies\Coffee And Cigarettes.avi):File not open!

I don't know whats wrong because others in the same directory begin encoding. It's not write protected in any way, so i don't know why it won't open it.

The second problem i have is when I get a file that begins encoding. It does the Audio fine then just sits at the Video encoding stage without doing anything. It comes up Executing Frameserver, a VFAPI Reader Codec box pops up and it does nothing after that. The program hasn't crashed because when i try and close it warns me that DVD2SVCD is still active.

I'm running it on Windows 2k Pro and as far as i know i've installed every codec needed. I've tried numerous versions of CCE and Avisynth. I'm baffled why it just sits there. Can anyone tell me something i've missed or am doing wrong?

try to rename your file to a shorter name... like coffee... who needs cigarettes anyway?!?!? - ok I admit it... I do smoke :D

winavi is your program it is not free but ti is only ($30 us) and it will take almost any avi to dvd or you can try dvdsanta it works good and it makes chapters all by itself and it takes up two 10 .avi i think

or you could try media player classic and open the file and then use the save as and then just type the name plus .avi (exp: coffe.avi) and then try it again

P.S. winavi and dvd santa do not have menu suport

Thanks, Dvdsanta works a treat. Not as many options as i'd like but at least it works. Nice one.
