Hello first off would like to say GREAT program. I have done several backups with this, but I ran into this #0003 error and cant seem to find away around it I am trying to back up "Carnival of Souls (Criterion) ".

I am using:

DVD-RB v0.64a
CCE basic 2.69.01.04 also tried 2.67.00.11
AviSynth 2.5
DVD Decrypter 3.5.1.0

I have done the following based on the threads I read:

1) Defraged my HD
2) ReInstalled CCE
3) ReInstalled different version of CCE
4) Deleted INI of DVD-RB
5) Used File Mode in DVD Decrypter.
6) Checked Use Special Error Processing.

I get the dreaded #0003 error on the rebuild stage at the begining of VTS_02_1.VOB on - Rebuilding segment 13 VOBID: 6 CELLID: 13

My rebuilder.ini is as follows:

Very bad idea, I would say, to put your source files in the root of your H drive. Put them always into a dedicated folder...

You didn't do absolutely any preprocessing, right ?

Cheers,

I use that HD as a working HD for my backups. Nothing else on that HD except for the Backup that im doing. I can put it in a folder no problem if you think that is what is causing the #0003 error?

As far as preprocessing dont know if I understand that?

I just rip the DVD using DVDdecrypter and then just use DVD-RB.

UPDATE:

I tried putting the movie in a seperate folder and not on the root directory and got the same error.

I then tried to back up another DVD with the same settings and it worked fine. :confused:

Then tried to backup this DVD again and got the same error :mad:

So the only thing I can think of its something with the DVD or settings that this DVD doesnt like. Any ideas ??

Ohh I forgot. This is a FS (Full Screen)DVD but I notice that in V01.D2V it says:

DGIndexProjectFile06

15 H:\VTS_01_1.VOB
15 H:\VTS_01_2.VOB
15 H:\VTS_01_3.VOB
15 H:\VTS_01_4.VOB
15 H:\VTS_01_5.VOB
15 H:\VTS_01_6.VOB
15 H:\VTS_01_7.VOB
15 H:\VTS_01_8.VOB

Stream_Type=1
iDCT_Algorithm=2
YUVRGB_Scale=1 (0:TVScale 1:PCScale)
Luminance_Filter=0,0 (Gamma, Offset)
Clipping=0,0,0,0 (ClipLeft, ClipRight, ClipTop, ClipBottom)

Aspect_Ratio=16:9 <<=============
Picture_Size=720x480 <<=============

Field_Operation=0 (0:None 1:ForcedFILM 2:RawFrames)

I was also experiencing #0003 errors w/ CCE Basic 2.69.01.04 while encoding a full screen DVD. I messed around with changing the Aspect_Ratio from 16:9 to 4:3 in the D2V, but it didn't make any difference. I think Picture_Size is ok. Quenc and the trial version of CCE SP resulted in good rebuild - for some reason the CCE Basic encode resulted in m2v files about half of the size of those generated by Quenc and CCE SP trial.

Give Quenc a try - it'll take longer than CCE, but the results are impressive.
