Hi guys, just dowloaded a movie, tried to convert using tmpgen so i can get it onto a dvd-r disc, but the sounds all over the place. The playback is all choppy. I have avi-codec installed and this is telling me that The file is 648mb,type avi file 1 audio stream,
Video 648mb, 834kbs, 29.970fps, 720x384(16x9), XVID=XVID MPEg4 supported
Audio 250kb, 128kbps,4800hz, 2 channels, 0x55=MPEG layer3 supported?
Any ideas how i can get this onto dvd?

Try using a frame server.

Yes. Spend the money and buy the DVD.
Downloading movies is illegal, in case you didn't know.

Try to read that DVD in a DVD drive with good error correction. The Plextor 116A2 is a very good one, for example.
If it still doesn't work, buy it again, and take better care of it. You can use DVD Shrink to back it up once you have a good DVD again.

Install AVISynth 2.5 and use it to feed TMPGEnc. Create an .avs file (AVISynth script) with a line like this:

AVISource("video.avi")
EnsureVBRMP3Synch()

Use that .avs file as the source for TMPGEnc (set for MP2 audio output), use the Wizard and you should get a good resulting .mpg file that can be authored into a DVD using your chosen authoring program.

Still illegal and against rule #6. Thread closed.
