Hello everyone, it has been a long time since I have posted anything here, I guess that shows everything has been going well! Anyway, I have using dvd2svcd for a couple of years with little or no problems. Now, I have just got my first dvd burner, so now I have new things to discover. The first is creating a dvd from an avi source. i think I have figured it out, but what I want to do is convert 2 avi's to 1 dvd. I know I have to convert each avi separately, but after that, I not sure what I should do, I know I can fit 2 converted avi's to 1 dvd, as I have been messing around with dvd santa. That works OK, but does not give me the quality I have grown to expect using dvd2svcd and cce 2.50. If I convert the 2 avi's separately, will the resulting files fit on 1 dvd? If so, will I have to change any of the file names so Nero will burn the separate files?

Hopefully this makes sense, if not, please let me know so I can try to explain it better.

Thanks so much!

What you need is an authoring tool like TMPGenc DVD Author or DVDLab. First you encode with DVD2SVCD and then author a DVD with as many as they fit on it.

You may want to pay a visit to the authoring forum, you can find plenty of guides and link to good tools.

Hey, thanks for the fast reply. I know this is absolutely ridiculous, but here's what led me to this. I used DVD Santa to create the dvd files, then burned them using Nero. Worked great, except I couldn't navigate to the second file. I needed to create a menu, and started fooling around with TMPGEnc DVD author. Created the menu using the files DVD Santa created, and re authored using DVD Author!!!!:) Created the menu I wanted, but what a complete waste of time!!!!!

So now I will create the DVD files using DVD2SVCD then author with DVD Author. I bet the quality is much better than what I have been fooling around with!

Thanks again!
