**** EDIT 12/08/04 BRINGING BACK AN OLDER THREAD BECAUSE THE SAME PROBLEM AROSE WITH .67 BUT ALL THE OTHER SOFTWARE STAYED THE SAME. PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO POST #10 FOR AN UPDATE, THANKS!
Hello,
I understand that .65 is a first priority atm as it is a major release, therefore I do not expect anyone to jump on this but if you have any ideas please share.
I know this is strange because that is a rare error but I just got it today trying to back up disc 3 of Ren & Stimpy Season 1-2 R1. There is absolutely no preprocessing done to the source and only one VTS is being encoded (VTS3). As a side note, I backed up discs 1 and 2 of the boxset without a problem. I know my config is fine, I used it withought changes to back up around 15 dvds until I stumbled upon this overflow.
Here's what I'm using:
DVD-RB .64a
CCE SP 2.66.01.07 w/ EclCCE 1.81
AviSynth 2.5.5.0
DGDECODE 1.0.12a
DVDDecrypter 3.5.1.0 in ISO mode
DaemonTools 3.47
WinXP Pro SP1
I tried the "Special Error Processing" mode with no luck. Errors out at the same spot ~83%.
Share your insights, gentlemen!

See if there's a *.VOB file in your D2VAVS directory. If so, delete it.

thanks for your reply, but there are no .vob files in my D2VAVS directory.

tried to redo the whole process with mpeg2dec3dg 1.0.1.0 in place of DGDECODE and it didn't do anything, still overflows with #0004 in the same exact spot.
also, do not know if it matters at all the overflow occurs on a small .m2v file (31,288 bytes). the file does not appear to have any useful video information in it. just a 23.976fps 6mbit encoded file. the .avs for it has trim(253164,253164). Actually, there are 9 more files similar to it sizewise in the project directory and 5 of them are identical content wise. it's strange that for some reason the other files get processed fine while this one errors out. I don't even know if it has to do with the file actually but I'm trying to put as much information out as possible in the hopes that may shed some light on the situation.

Try ripping the disk in "file mode" instead of "ISO mode" and use the that as source.

Just an idea.
Check your rebuilder.ecl file for the segment corresponding to your m2v file: It should have "video_type=1" (as it is an still image (just one frame) RB has set it to CBR). Change it to VBR (video_type=4)
Save and encode again. rebuild. Luck :D

thank you for suggestions,
so far i've tried pg55555's idea. I just found the part that corresponds to the file in question in rebuilder.ecl and made a small .ecl out of it with the video_type adjusted to 4. Then I moved the .vaf file just in case and re-encoded that segment using EclCCE. I turned out to be just over 2KB long with an average bitrate of 500Kbps. Tried to rebuild - no go. Still overflows at that file.
Right now I'm redoing the whole project according to Hirogen's suggestion (rip in file mode). Though I fail to see how an ISO extracted with DD with 0 errors / 0 retries and mounted with DT could be a problem. Anyway, stranger things have happened and I will report as soon as the encode is complete.
***** EDIT:
Tried to rip the DVD in file mode like suggested and rebuild from that, same exact error on the same file. Any ideas are welcome.

I appreciate the input from all of you but as I have tried all suggestions and some of my own ideas without success I ended up backing the disc up using the big3 method. Thank you all for participating. I consider this thread closed.

i got this error #0004 on the rebuild stage using RB v.065 (CCE 3-pass),
i've backup tons of disc by using RB and this is the 'first' & 'only' error i get so far.
i did preprocessing my source file using dvdremake pro 2.2 (which i usually dont).
DVD-RB 0.65
CCE 2.67.00.27 SP
EclCCE 1.81
AviSynth 2.55
DGMPGDec_1012a
cheers

Instead of starting a new thread for this issue I decided to bring my own thread back but with an update.
Haven't had any issues with DVD-RB for some time. Recently tried to back up Seinfeld Seasons 1-3. The disc I'm having problems with is the 3rd of the set of seasons 1 & 2. It was ripped with DD 3.5.1.0 in ISO mode and mounted with daemon tools 3.47. I tried Rebuilder .66a and now .67 with or without special error processing turned on from the beginning. I also tried using CCE 2.50.01.00 and 2.66.01.07 all without luck. I am still getting an overflow error #0004. As with my previous case I'm using all the latest software releases:
DVD-RB .67
EclCCE 1.81
AviSynth 2.5.5.0
DGDECODE 1.0.12a
DVDDecrypter 3.5.1.0
DaemonTools 3.47
Also, there is absolutely no preprocessing done to the disc.
Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!
