having unsuccesfully tried getting audio sync in VD for VOBs
I tried Nero's workabout posted in the VD forums(I'm not posting there because I think I could get the answer here without having to sign up to yet another forum)

VD thread: http://virtualdub.everwicked.com/index.php?act=ST&f=12&t=5124&

But i've come to a problem here too!

heres what I did following his instructions:

1 I used DVD2AVI to demux the audio and save the project file

I did that by using a tutorial found here at Doom9. The one that states: DVD2AVI guide - how to create a DVD2AVI project and demux an audio track

2 Using AVI-Synth I created a .avs file that reads...

Did that!

3 I opened the *.avs file as a normal video file and added in the *.ac3 audio file.

Ahh, heres where I get lost. I opened the avs file, but boy was the quality bad. How do I retain the quality of the VOB? Do I change something in Step 1 in DVD2AVI or Step 3 in VD?

What I don't get is

and added in the *.ac3 audio file.

How do I add the .ac3 file? The audio menu only allows source(which has none), or wav. How does Nero do it?

if I fix this, step 4 I could do.

The quality shouldnt be affected, unless you are talking about interlacing... could you perhaps post a screenshot? (www.imageshack.us)

In virtualdubmod you can add it in the streams list... or you can mux it after encoding the video with AVImux GUI... if you want to convert the AC3 to mp3, you can use VirtualDubMod together with ac3acm from fcchandler or for example besweet.

finally someone, thanks!

In virtualdubmod you can add it in the streams list...

How do you do it? I can't find an option to do that.

I'll get some screenshots together asap!

basically, the avs file opened in VD looks like it had a color/saturation drain big time.

well, if you have virtualdubmod 1.5.4 or 1.5.10 (not virtualdub-mpeg2) go to streams--->streams list and then push the "add" button
