I am trying the 30-day trial downloadable on the website. I was wondering if it is unusual for TMPGEnc to take 21 hours to encode a 90 minute movie. Are there recommendations to speed up the software? I just used thedefault configurations.

My hardware:
Averatec 5400
Athlon 2800+ (1.6 GHz Dublin core, 128k L1, 128k L2 I believe)
512 MB DDR
40 GB

Maybe Noise Reduction is switched on? Switch it off!

TMPGEnc isn't one of the fast Encoders, but 21 Hours to encode 90 Minutes of Video? That's much too long - even if you have only one HDD in your PC.

Thanks for the responses. The encoding time has been cut down to about 4 hours. It may need more optimizations, but for now I am content. The video quality of the playback is excellent.
