Can someone shed some light on this for me.

I have Nero Recode (Nero Digital). I think this is the best software I have seen yet. Very simple, very fast, with extraordinary results.

I have set it up for
Maximum definition
Q pixel
file size from 4.3gb to 1 - 1.5gb

Here is what I do not understand
my recode says H.263

I might misunderstand but is the future H.264. I went to google and searched and found.
http://www.emedialive.com/Articles/ReadArticle.aspx?ArticleID=8763

"Nero Digital, by contrast, is making a bee line for the living room, and as-yet-unreleased CE devices will sport the Nero Digital logo and embed the Nero MPEG-4 decoder (Sigma Designs announced Nero Digital support in its latest set-top reference design in June). You'll still do your MPEG-4 Nero Digital encoding on the PC—one of the key features of the Reloaded Nero Ultra is support for Nero Digital H.264/AVC encoding in Nero Recode. Working in conjunction with Ateme, Ahead has established a certification program and SDK for developing Nero Digital-compliant consumer appliances"

So this was Posted Aug 4, 2004

I went back to Nero and see they have added H.264 for Nero Nero Vision Express 2 and Nero ShowTime. http://www.nero.com/en/632072712342879.html

So I emailed Nero and asked if or when H.264 will be in recode 2.
No replies, 3 days.

Does anyone here know if or when, or am I lost.

And where are these Nero Digital-compliant consumer appliances!!!! No announcements, Is it just to new?
I would love to see a network attached media player with.
divx
xvid
Nero digital
and HD support WM9, .ts and .tp files (transport streams).

Anyway if someone could clear the fog I would appreciate it.

If this is the wrong area let me know I will move it to the proper forum.

Thank you
jedill

Sorry martin

I haven't ran into any audio troubles.

5.1 or stereo.

Do you have the latest driver for your audio card?
Does the audio from the source file sound good?

Do this burn your file to a data disk, take it to another computer and see if the sound is low there. Just a suggestion.

I have two separate systems I test on and nether one give me any audio troubles.

Hope this helps.

The h. Series are videocodec for videotelefons. They where standardised by ITU-T (http://www.ito.org)(International Telecommunication Union). H.262 and h.263v1 are the basics for MPEG2 and h.263v2 and v3 are the base for MPEG4 Part2. h.264 where standardised from ITU-T and JTC1/SC29/W11(MPEG). ITU call it h.264 and MPEG call it MPEG 4 Part 10(Advanced Video Codec - AVC).

Now Nero asked Ateme to create a h.264/AVC conform Codec(see threat in this Forum). But the Codec wasn´t finisht as the latest Nero was publish last week. We all hope it will be in the next update.

For more infos about h.264 and MPEG4 see Sticky:MPEG-4 Information (including AVC/H.264) (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=73022)

Probably not IgorC, that's why I asked, so someone could help explain it to me.

But I would like to thank you for your wonderful explanation.

@martin3361

I'll go off-topic here to answer your question. Low audio levels? Yup--drives me nuts! Apparently, Nero doesn't nomalize. Use BeSweetGUI+Azid+BSN+NeroAAC, if you want to hear your soundtrack without cranking the volume (and noise floor of your audio system :() Of course you must mux the audio and video yourself.
