In backing up Star Wars A New Hope with DVD Rebuilder .65 I unchecked the french and spanish subtitles. After the rebuild the french and spanish subtitles were still there but the english subtitles were gone. That is just the english subtitles that play when the aliens speak the english subtitles that are there all the time still worked. Anyone else had this problem?

Similar 0.65 problem.

I ripped Ben-Hur using DVDDecrypter. I then use DVD-RB but kept first audio track and first English subtitle. After I burned DVD and turned on English subtitle, I didn't see any text displayed.

Maybe I should have writen "Subtitles to remove" instead of "Subtitles to keep" on the GUI :o.

Can you test it?
Pretend it's writen "Subtitles to remove", ok?

Thanks and keep it UP

The titles that are unchecked are the titles that are kept.

Rockas did it right. I must have implemented it backwards... sigh... it'll get fixed. I assume we're talking about the main screen, not the setup screen?

Yeah the new subtitle box on the main window of .65.

Thanks man keep up the good work.

This appears to have been implemented correctly. Can someone confirm?

1. The choice on the SETUP menu selects titles to REMOVE by default.

2. The choice on the main menu selects titles to KEEP for a specific title set.

It appears to be working correctly for me...

I have no problems, but one selection mode (e.g. keep option for both)seems to be better ?!

Yeah, I don't like reverse logic... don't know what I was thinking originally. But -- if I change it now I'm bound to have even more confusion.

There is something screwy going on with 66a and subs. I just encoded The Princess Bride Special Edition R1. The DVD has English, French and Spanish subs. My settings are to keep English and Latvian subs, these boxes are unchecked. The final output had English and Spanish subs.

I have had subtitle problems ever since version 0.57 and I am using 0.66a right now. I tried it on my Planet of the Apes 2003 DVD since this has supposedly angles on it. To my dismay the English subtitles do not appear if you pick them on the setup screen. Now this subtitle problem happens only on certain DVD's that I have in my collection, kind of random. I would say about 1 in 7 would have this problem. As a matter of fact I am thinking of compiling the list of DVD's that have the English subtitle problem. Just too lazy right now to do it. All the settings seems to be ok and correct as per the instructions????

My advice to you is to keep nothing selected on the setup window (when it comes to subtitles and audio) and then just check the subtitles and audio streams that you want to keep on the main window, ok?

Well I followed your advice on my Planet of the Apes 2003 DVD. It seems that the English subtitle was visible on the Chapter 1 only and then disappeared thereafter???

Also, I find that using v. 66a the movie looked really ugly (sort of washed up) on WinDVD5 but this is not the case when you view it thru a stand-alone + 50" screen TV.

The movie looked really good when I used InterVideo DVDCopy 2. However, you only have the option of one Audio and one subtitle (sucks). I don't think the angle's functioned either.

@kRuZaDeR

You must have done something completly wrong...

you only have the option of one Audio and one subtitle

that is not right!?!? you can select from all the audio and subtitle streams that your original DVD got, and there's no question about it, please try it again, don't forget to make a full DVD rip with DVD Decrypter.

Oh no. I was talking about Intervideo's DVDCopy 2 as having only the option of one Audio and one Subtitle and I was not refering to DVD Rebuilder at all.

Anyways, what I was trying to say was the when I used IVDVDCOPY2 to do the movie the quality looked better in the PC on WINDVD5 software to view the movie. And I was disappointed with the recent DVD Rebuilder 0.66a cause it looked washed up.
