Did search but could really find a answer to this question.

With packet size should i be using for encoding dvds, its just the cce2.50 manual says its defualt is 4096 but cce2.67 is 2048 default. The manuals say you can change the packet size, but i dont have a clue what the packet size really is.

thanks

The streams are split into discrete "packets" when they are multiplexed into a program stream (PS) or VOB. You needn't worry about packet size unless you are using CCE to encode MPEG-2 PS (video + audio). If you're only encoding MPEG-2 ES, then packet size doesn't apply.

FWIW, every VOB I've ever seen uses 2048 (in fact, I suspect it's mandatory for DVD).

OK, cheers. So changing from 4096 to 2048 wont make any difference if im just outputing MPEG2 ES.
