I need to repeat an MPEG-2 encode for DVD with basically the exact same settings, except that I'm repeating it with a slightly lower average bitrate to achieve a smaller filesize so as to accommodate another audio track. Also, I will not be running the audio through the encoder this time.
I still have the VAF file from the previous encode. I'm guessing that the setting in the encoder to "use existing file" is to do exactly that ... and save time.
So as long as I check "use existing file" and make sure that the box next to 'video information file' under 'Output files' points to my already existing file, will the encoder use the file and save me the time?? Is there any reason this would be inadvisable?
