I encoded a video file with DivX, but after encoding I found that I wanted to change a portion of it. I split it with VDub/VDubMob/Nandub and rejoined, but they all seem to have audio problems as I get a few seconds of audio on the first segment, messing up everything. I used AviSynth to do it and it worked, but now I have to reencode the DivX. Is there a way to do this without recoding, and why does VDub have that audio "bug"?

load encoded Divx to VirtualDubMod, set the range that you want to remove, use DELETE, set new range use DELETE ....
set direct copying for audio and video
save new file,

I did, the audio is out of synch.

My advice:
- to not have audio synch problems especialy with mp3 always use CBR (constance bit rate)
- try to use original audio format eventually repaired/corrected by ProjectX in case if an frame dropouts were present
- take care about it especially during the first encoding to .avi .divx or .mkv, than latter editing processes will keep audio in synchro
