ok, i know most of you know where to look and what to type in the search to find past posts on how to do this, but im not having any luck. (i have tried simple menu, write simple menu, add simple menu ect)
i did find a referance to dvd lab, but thats a bit complex (and only good for 30 days).
all i want to do is have a SIMPLE menu that pops up when disc is placed in dvd player, (disk will have 3 episodes on it, no exteras (no compression that way)
all i want on the menu is something like
play 1 2 3
i have given squeeze the flick, and now use shrink to rip to hard drive, and while this does a great job in this area, it cant add a menu :(

The creation of menus is also known as "authoring", this may help you in future searches.
DVD-lab is an inexpensive solution for your authoring needs, it packs a lot of punch for the dollar and has good basic guides on the Web with which to learn it. Other options include TMPGenc DVD Author (http://www.pegasys-inc.com), and Adobe's Encore, which is quite a bit more expensive. If you're still in school and qualify for Adobe's academic discounts, take a look at their video suites which package Premiere (editing), Encore (authoring), and Audition (audio). They offer several packages, I think one of them includes PhotoShop, but this is the most basic they offer, IIRC.
Although authoring may seem complex to you at first glance, as soon as you become more familiar with the tools and terminology involved with any of the above mentioned app's, you'll be making sweet looking, easy-to-navigate menus in no time! Just grab a demo and go to work!

i have been playing with dvdlab, and though it looks like its got a lot more than i think i will need, not as complex as first thought.
from the look of things, once i have the hang of things it will be as easy as....backing up...vhs tapes used to be.

As you become more adept at dvd creation IMO you will become dissatisfied with a simple menu like play 1, 2 or 3. While it may seem overwelming at first, I recommend taking the time and creating something a little more indepth. I believe you will be happier with your end product over time.
