I need help with problem DVDs

Hi all
Lately, in my efforts to back up personally owned DVDs, I've been running into certain discs that lock up my computer very close to the end of encoding. Is this due to limitations of my system? New encryption technology? Is there a way past this problem? Does anyone recognize this issue?

Well we need quite a bit more information in order to help you. How are you backing up your dvd? By a one click method or by the big three method? Where exactly are you having your error and with what program? What are your steps you use to backup your dvd? Please submit as much information that you can.
