View Full Version : Why not MPEG-1?

So I decided to try MPEG-1 encoding with CCE, just for giggles ... There doesn't seem to be a multipass option for MPEG-1. On the other hand, oddly enough, apparently CCE will output a system stream for MPEG-1.

So why the apparent hesitancy to use CCE for MPEG-1 encodes? And is there any way to do multiple passes?

Just fishing for people's thoughts ...

Because the output is worse than what TMPGEnc produces. Besides, MPEG-1 encoding is free in TMPGEnc;)
