View Full Version : Skipping in BeSweet decoded audio?

First of all, I am not as computer literate as some of you, as my browsing of the forums has shown me, so take it easy. When I decode audio using BeSweet and the GUI, the output files (regardless of output format) skip incessantly. My first thought was that the 6 channel AC3's I was trying to decode (to a stereo format) were skipping as a result of the downmix process. However, 2 ch. AC3's do the same thing. What could be my problems?

Please post your besweet logfile and what player/directshow filters you are using to play back the wav files.

Here's my log file. I've tried playing the WAV files in Windows Media Player, Sonic Foundry/Sony's Sound Forge and Goldwave, which none of which play back the file without skipping. After playing around for some time, I found that all VOB's would would lead to skipping WAV's if the VOB substream input was set to auto, but some (less than half) would correct the skipping if I specified the default Ox80 substream. However, the VOB's themselves have multiple streams, and some of these streams skip as well after decoding.

Questions:
1. What's up?
2. What are directshow filters?
3. Is there any way to view the VOB's available substreams from within BeSweet (I'm switching back and forth from DVD Decrypter)?

The stream errors are definitely the source of your skipping. Try reripping from the DVD, using a different ripping program. The disk itself may be scratched or otherwise b0rked.
