I've authored several DVD's that each have 2-4 captured videos on them. Each one has a simple Title Menu that allows you to play one of the videos, or play through them all. I've authored some of these DVD's in ULead Movie Factory 2 and some in TMPGEnc DVD Author, and my problem occurs with both programs.
What happens is this: I put in the disc, the Title Menu comes up and looks great. I can play a video and return to the menu at anytime by pressing "Menu" or "Title Menu" on my remote. Sometimes the menu will come back up and look fine, but other times it'll look distorted. I think the color palette may be changed, because it looks like there are less colors being used to display the menu. Once the distorted menu appears, it stays distorted even if I play another video and come back. The only way I've been able to get it to look normal again is to open and close the disc tray on the player.
I've had this problem occur on about four different types of media, and on the only three standalone DVD players I've tested them on, although it does NOT occur when playing the authored files in PowerDVD. However, I just thought of one thing I could try that I haven't - play the actual burned disc on my computer in PowerDVD. I have a feeling the problem won't occur there either, though. If it does, at least then I can narrow it down to the post-authoring process.
Has anyone ever heard of this before? Got any ideas what the problem might be? Thanks for any help.
