I joined last week and searched the forum for any threads relating to ripping 5.1 Audio DVDs to the PC...but couldn't find anything

My question is this: (and if there is a thread, can you point me to it - thanks!)

I can rip DVDs to my PC no problem. I'm more interested in capturuing the SOUND from a DVD rather than the movie itself

I have the BeSweet software because I want to rip the 5.1 sound track from the DVD and be able to play it in 5.1 on my PC - the bit I can't figure out how to do this with BeSweet - all I seem to be able to do is rip to 2 channel stereo

Should it be possible? - or do I need some other additional software or plugin

Thanks for your help

Best wishes

this is really a old theme ;)

use dvddecrypter to demux the audio track (dts or AC3) from your DVD-video.
Then replay it with one of the player mentioned in this (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=83089) thread.
If you want to replay a AC3 with the windows media player you should install the ac3filter (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Filters/ac3filter_0_70b.exe).

(AC3 means Dolby Digital ;) )
