I am trying to turn my Simpsons Season 1 DVD's into MPG files so that I can put them in a playlist in Windows Media Player 10.

1) I am turning them into individual VOB files using DVD Shrink 3.2

2) I just rename the VOB to MPG

3) They play fine in WinDVD 6

4) They last about 1 minute in WMP and skip around until credits?!?

I have done family guy and other cartoons without any problems, and even tried running the simpsons disc through DVD Decrypter before running it through DVD Shrink with no luck. I have tried different settings on DVD Shrink with no luck. Any help would be much apprececiated.

vob files r indeed mpg files as u have discovered. The main difference is that they r muxed differently and they contain subs.

WMP 10 is capable for dvd playback, so why get into hassle of renaming the vob files and losing the whole dvd structure? U have already shrinked them down to a dvd-r size. U can load the VIDEO_TS folder and enjoy the whole thing, except if I am missing something.

There are 3 discs each with 6 episodes. I would like to have 18 simpson mpg files that I can put in a playlist and shuffle while watching. I want to create a cartoon playlist and include a mix of family guy simpsons and spongbob so when the kids want to watch cartoons I just hit play and leave it on shuffle.

After doing a little searching I used a program that showed me that the disc is going from FILM to NTSC back and forth a whole bunch. Like I said, the mpg files play fine in WinDVD but WinDVD doesn't have a playlist option, I don't think.

I am not sure but I think it has one. U must find it together with the option to load stuff from the disk.
