Hey;

I ripped some movies from a DVD in order to place them in another DVD authored by me. I used Smart Ripper but I probably ripped them in the wrong way, because I ended with some vob files that don't match the movies I want to use. Some movies are spanned across two vob files.

I renamed the vob files to mpg and can watch them on Media Player 10, Power DVD , etc but can't merge them. Both Canopus MPEGCraft an TMPGEnc MPEG Editor tell me that the files don't have audio.

But they do! Two channels AC3!

How can I solve this? Any MPEG Editor/joiner that can do this?

Thank you!

Rename the VOB files back to their original names. Open each VTS_xx_01.VOB in VobEdit, click Demux, and select All Video and All Audio options. This will split all the VOBs into .m2v and .ac3 files merging the movies spanned across two VOBs (i.e. VTS_xx_02.VOB files). The output files can be used as is for authoring, or you can multiplex them with TMPGEnc's MPEG tools and watch in PowerDVD. AC-3 isn't a standard for an MPEG file though.

I solved my problem using DVTool

http://www.musclesoft.de/combatman/start.php?page=software/dvtool.html&lang=e

It can merge (concatenate) MPEG-2 files with AC3 sound.

And it's free!

Anyway, thank you for your help.
