Hi Everyone

Lately I was lookin for the best way to deinterlace. I've read all the guides, FAQs and posts I could find, and of course, didn't find the definite answer.

I'm using the same dumb script for the last 3 years (selectEven(bob(clip))). Of all the deinterlacers I've tested avisynth's internal bob seems to give the best results.

Am I missing something ?

considering your throwing away half of your video: yes youre missing something, but if you find it best...

i normally use kerneldeint from neuron2

I know that I'm loosing half of the information, that's what's bothering me.

KernelDeinit always leaves some jaggies, and it doesn't seem any sharper than dumb bob (I've tried comparing them at different frames throughout the video- how do you compare quality - is there some objective method? ).

TomsMoComp with(-1,5,1) looks even blurier than the avisyth's bob.
