I have a problem with subtitles showing up wrong, both
on DVD-player(Mustek, Kiss) and Windows MediaPlayer Classic.

The text is shown mostly to the right side of the screen, and
when there are longer senctences, they are broken and the rest
shows up on the left side.

The movies have been recorded from TV in format 544x576, and
then I have added subtitles with the application - Srt2Sup a4.03.
IfoEdit has finally been used to get the DVD.

I can also mention that my Pioneer DVD-player 464, displays these
subtitles correct, but not the aforementioned ones.
When I try to play these movies on WinDVD, the only show upp like
some blurred mess.

Does anybody have an explanation why Pioneer handles these subs
correctly but not the others?

Is there another software-player that can handle these subs better.

Thanks!

The problem, most likely, is that 544x576 is not a DVD resolution. I'm not familiar with those specific players, but I'd bet the one that does display things correctly can also show video-cd (those players need to be more adaptable to resolutions).
DVD uses 720x576, 704x576, 352x576, or 352x288 for PAL. Resize to one of those resolutions and compatability should improve.
