I would like to know if the quantizer scale (0-64) can produce a better picture quality in CCE 2.67 trial.
According to CCE "this parameter changes the balance of characteristics at quantization. The range is 0 to 64.
As the value becomes closer to 0,a higher bit amount is allocated to complicated images areas. As the value becomes closer to 64,a higher bit amount is allocated to flat image areas(6).When the value is
close to 0,the mosquito noise at the edges (noise causing hazy part along the edges, looking like flying mosquitoes)is less outstanding, but the contouring noise (noise which looks like contour line patterns,
which appear in flat and wide areas, such as a dark background)is more outstanding. The opposite occurs when the value is closer to 64."
In fact, I don't see any difference between 0 to 64.
But the experts can show me I'm wrong?

I believe you will see it making a difference only at lower bitrates around 3000 kbps and less. Personally, I have settled with 25-28.

I see.
From 0-20, picture seems to be soft with no sharpen edges (for lower bitrate encoding).
From 40-64, priority to sharpen edges but with the decrease of the antialiasing (1) . That's why this setting need high bitrate (>4000).
-------------------
(1)Antialiasing smooths out the discretization of an image by padding pixels with intermediate colors.
Here a good link to understand it:
