wrong DVD software??

I'm using TMPG to try and encode with. I'm following the guide here at doom9 using TMPG 2.5 but I can never get started encoding! Everytime I try to encode it tells me that I don't have a DVD software player installed and that preview will not be possible. When disabling preview I still get the same message and I have the newest version of Media Player and WinDVD installed.

Anybody that might be able to help me out in this case?:confused:

I've seen TMPG cheat and use DirectShow filters to decode incoming streams before it re-encodes them. Try wrapping the video up in an Avisynth script. What is the original content? .avi or mpeg2?
