So, I've got about a hundred episodes of a anime called Naruto on my computer, its starting to take up space(`17gigabytes) so I wanted to put the collection on DVD, to be playable on standalone DVD players. I went through most of the guides on the doom9 site, but some of the relevant parts of them appear all screwed up on my computer and I can not read them. I have TMPGen DVD Author and I've made DVDs /w menus before, but in this case I am having problems, I cannot convert the files right.

If anyone can tell me how to do this or atleast help me, I'd be glad. Below I have attached a screenshot of the GSpot analysis of the first episode, I am relatively sure that they have not changed codecs over time. If there is anything else you need to know, just ask.

Hi
you should find there 2 guides who should work: Format conversion guides (http://www.doom9.org/conversionguides.htm)

you can allso go and buy a knew dvd-player with .avi (and ogg) support

They don't work, been over them many times. And for some reasons half of the doom9 guides never display right, they get all corrupted its really really odd, so while I can veiw the main conversion guides, all the links off of there are at some point corrupted and unreadable. I would not have posted here unless I had tried those, so If someone could please help, once my image gets reveiwed by a GM you will see it.

This may not help much, but I've converted quite a lot of avis and nothing about the avi seems out of the ordinary in that pic - on the face of it the standard conversion methods (as outlined in the doom9 guides) should be just fine. Provided you have the divx 3.11 codec installed of course.

Given your browser issues I suggest you try installing an alternative browser - e.g. Mozilla (which is free).

Bottom line: you need to provide more detail as to the exact nature of the problems you are having.

I'm using Mozilla Firefox 1.0, So thats not the problem. The biggest problems I have with those guides is the sound is always off, and TMPGenc DVD Author gives me errors about the GOPS(Whatever that is), and won't let me use the video.

If the sound is off by a consistent margin from start to end an audio delay may be embedded in the file, and that is lost when converting.

GOP = group of pictures. Every 12 to 15 frames, usually, in an mpeg 2 video stream constitutes one GOP. That error would tend to indicate bad encoding settings - and the ones suggested in the guides should be fine. Try another authoring app and/or double check your settings...

candyman: maybe moz is blocking cookies or something which isnt allowing you to view the guides properly. maybe go back to trying IE to see if you can view the site?
