i found a directshow filter, which has been developed by philips, which is able to decode raw h.264 streams (plays moonlight samples too), on the avc alliance (http://www.avc-alliance.org/downloads.htm)'s website

it seems to simply be a decoder filter ("philips h264 decoder filter"), but does not include a parser. dunno how it works but somehow it seems as if the decoder is able to directly connect to the source async filter

it offers two main options:
1) the setting of cpu optimisation: no opt, mmx, sse, sse2
2) setting of "parameters 2", whatever this is...

maybe its any good, speed- or featurewise (dont have much time to look into it more deeply myself) and someone finds it interesting, at least it shows that philips is working on h.264 :)

Not a bad find bond :)

The players GUI is awful. So for all those how just want to install and register the DSdec filter, please click here (http://82.2.167.24/Uploaded_Files/Doom9_Forum_files/H264_DSdec_Filter_By_AVC.zip).

Are you sure it's made by Philips?

Cheers

Have I got the same filter as you?

Ah cool - uninstalled that awful player and installed the filter only. Just open one of the sample clips from that site in MPC and check the filter - it says "Phillips H264 Decoder Filter".
