Hi,

I've tried to rip/convert a DVD using DIF4U, ReAuthorist and Scenarist - but I have a problem on the output when the menu is goinf to be displayed.

In my \DIF4U\VIDEO_TS I have:

22-09-2004 20:43 18.432 VIDEO_TS.BUP
22-09-2004 20:43 18.432 VIDEO_TS.IFO

22-09-2004 20:47 18.432 VTS_01_0.IFO

06-02-2002 18:20 10.240 VTS_06_0.VOB

In the \DIF4U\0\VIDEO_TS I get:

22-09-2004 07:36 10.240 VIDEO_TS.BUP
22-09-2004 07:36 10.240 VIDEO_TS.IFO

22-09-2004 07:44 101.093.376 VTS_06_2.VOB

Now, I do the copy and then run IFOUpdate on the corresponsing IFO files (on those VOBs that has been converted). The Output dir then looks like:

06-02-2002 17:40 18.432 VIDEO_TS.BUP
06-02-2002 17:40 18.432 VIDEO_TS.IFO

22-09-2004 07:44 101.093.376 VTS_06_2.VOB

But when putting all together i Nero and trying to burn the disc, I get a warning:

"DVD-Video files reallocation failed. The resulting DVD-Video might be unplayable. Do you want to continue?"

PowerDVD plays from the directory without problems - but what is causing Nero to complaint ? Taking a bunch of files at a time, it seems like the problem lies somewhere in the VTS_02 files ... But can I somehow check what is causing Nero to complaint

rduck,
this has been discussed many times before:
Burning after IFoupdate (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=70064&highlight=reallocation+nero)
An easier way to do the IFOUpdate step - By Eyes`Only (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=63841&highlight=reallocation+nero)
Nero's DVD-Video files reallocation failed error? (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=69343&highlight=reallocation+nero)
etc
i would also seriously consider updating your programs to include Scenaid and BatchIfoUpdate.

Hi,

I've tried the method using BatchCCEWS, NuMENU4 and ScenAid, but I have some problems with it. It seems like not all unprocessed files are copied, there are problems with the path passed to ScenAid (seems like a ']' is added to the string, so ScenAid wont run automatically. That's why I'm still using the "old" big-3 guide (to me it looks like there has been too much copy/paste from the old guide to the new guide - and not all information has been corrected to reflect the changes between the two methods).

i would tend to agree with you on that count.

although the intent of the new programs is for them to be fully integrated, this (imho) will not be workable until an update of DIF4U is released that opens Scenaid directly and it is Scneaid that controls BatchCCE. with any luck Eyes will release this option shortly - time permitting, of course.

the method i personally use is:
Run Numenu4U first (to asses if any compiling errors occur)
then DIF4U, manually open Scenaid and select the demux folder, and set it to open BatchCCE.
change any parameters i need in Batch - encode.
when finished Scenaid opens the script in Scenarist for me. i check everything is okay, compile, then fire up BatchIfoUpdate.

...of course this is not to suggest that it is the only work flow option but it is my personal preference

cheers
