View Full Version : Saving The Secondary Audio Stream

Hi, I've tried searching and reading the guides, but can't find an answer to this that I can understand or works like I expect.

I'm trying to save the secondary audio stream (ac3) of an avi file as a separate audio file.

What I've tried....

I can save the first stream easily enough in Nandub.
1) If I leave both audio streams checked and choose "Save WAV", nandub crashes.
2) If I check "no audio" for the first stream, then check avi audio for the second, then load the file and check video for direct stream.
.a) If I try a "Save WAV", I get a "no audio stream" error.
.b) I can save the avi and have a new avi with just a secondary audio.
3) Loading the avi with only a secondary audio stream into Nandub, choosing "Save WAV" gives a blank file cause it only tries to save the primary.

So is there a simple way to save the secondary stream?
or...
Is there a way to change the secondary stream to the primary when there is no primary in the avi?

Thanks.

All this you will find in AVIMUX-GUI.

Heh, well it took me a while to find avimux-gui, but finally did and it worked perfectly. Thanks.

Oddly AviMux seems to be part of the GKRipPack, but it didn't get installed, plus it's not in any of the doom9 downloads sections I could see.

AVI-Mux GUI part of the GK rip pack? No, you got something confused. It was never part of the rip pack. GKnot uses VDubMod exclusively.

You can find AVI-Mux GUI's homepage here:

Well it was what I read from the main page. :) Click on download and it says this:

Gordian Knot rippack 0.28.8 - contains basic software to do SBC, DivX5 and XviD encoding as described in my guides - contains DVDDecrypter 3.2.1.0, vStrip 0.8f CSS, DVD2AVIdg 1.0.0, BeSweet 1.5b26, azidts 0.1, vsfilter, Decomb 5.1.1, fluxsmooth, Convolution3D, Deen, TomsMoComp, AviSynth 2.54, VobSub 2.23, VirtualDubMod 1.5.10.1/2439, Nandub RC2 lumafix ecffix, AviMuxGUI 1.13, chapterXtractor 0.962 and Robot4Rip 0.5.

Am I reading that wrong?

Hm, we are both right. The package description on gknot's sf project page doesn't mention avimux gui.

No, Brother John. You will NOT download the whole package just to find out!
