Read avi guide, still no good

Hi there,

i've used gspot to identify an avi file i'm experimenting with trying to convert to something dvd compliant but now i'm confused...not that it takes much,,:)

The file is .avi but gspot says divx 5.0. The audio stream is MPEG-1 layer 3

the guide on avi to dvd doesn't really make it clear what to do.

i've tried cucusoft avi-dvd convertor but that left me with 2 1/2 hour long movie files and one 20 min long audio file.

i'm new to this really and dont understand.

can someone please help and advise me what to do.

have you tried using the AVI2DVD part of DVD2SVCD for the task - it should do pretty much everything for you!

cheers for the link, really usefull...just worked out how to install the ASPI drivers and things it says you need also,,,so after a reboot i'll give it a go:)
