Well, in my recent encodes I've encountered a lot of subtitles where it was displayed all the time until another subtitle is encountered.

for example:
Some conversation is happening so a subtitle is displayed. No dialog is happening for 1 minute and the subtitle is still displayed. Conversation is happening again so another subtitle is displayed.
---

This happens intermittently. :|

To fix the problem:

Do I have to reauthor (no encoding) the downsampled DVD? OR

Do I have to reencoded the original DVD?

1.0 resolves this issue (which will be released if I can get to it) - in the meantime, what your referring to is nostop....which is interesting because if vsrip sees nostop then that's probably the way the original was

how would I fix my already burnt DVDs?

1. reauthor the downsampled DVD without encoding using scenaid 1.00
2. reencode the original DVD and reauthor using scenaid 1.00

Thanks

either would work

you know you could have added the stops yourself...

just did some investigation.

I played the original DVD and the downsampled DVD.

In the part where there is an a subtitle error. The downsampled DVD skipped on a sentence.

for example:
in the original DVD, the subtitle would be displayed like this:

"Conversation here1", "Conversation here2", "Conversation here3"

in the downsampled DVD, it goes like this:
"Conversation here1", "Conversation here3" (and it played longer than usual compared to the original DVD)

"Conversation here2" was not displayed at all.

Does this only affect BoV titles or all?

some more investigation:
-----

I reripped the downsampled DVD image using dif4u.

I then search for the conversation that I listed above.

As I said above, "Conversation here2" is not displayed at all. But it is displayed when using the original DVD.

I looked at the bmp files and I cannot find it as well.

Does that mean that because of the nostop bug, it is removing subtitles that should be there?

I also compared the no. of bmp files in the sub folder for the original DVD (ripped by dif4u) and downsampled DVD (ripped by difu4) and the original DVD has more bmps. :|

I'm not so sure now if using next release of scenaid would bring it back. Unless the current vsrip didn't properly rip the subs and it wasn't included the the bmp files and the missing bmp is still in the .vob.

/me crosses his finger. :|
