Hi,

I´ve got the aac parser and core aacfilter in order to play back my aac files. I´ve also executde the .bat files for registering.
Now where do I have to copy

- aac_parser.ax
- CoreAAC.ax and the file "COPYING" (included in the core.zip file)

in order the play aac-files in WMP9? Can´t possibly just let them sit in whatever directory!

Secondly, does anybody know of a Mp4 decoder capable of playing 5-channel mp4-files in WMP9? I´ve installed 3ivx ... but so far, it didn´t work!

Greetings to anybody with some advice,
HK

It's possible that you've installed it some time ago and now the demo version has expired. In that case you could either register it for US$ 6.99 or use CoreAAC together with the 3ivx DirectShow splitter where you would have to enable the option "Allow unsupported codecs". This is mentioned in the FAQ, by the way...

Hi Hans-Jürgen,
thank you for your reply. I only installed 3ivX 2 days ago, so it should work.
From what I understood, 3ivx plus Winmediaplayer9 should be capable of playing those files, correct? Graphedit tells me that 3ivx is installed, so what´s wrong?

Anyway, I put AAC parser in a folder, did the same with Core´s AAC filter, put both folders in the Programme directory, registered both and both show up in Graphedit under Direct Show filters. Yet WMP9 refuses telling me:
"The codec with the formattag1 is unavailable."

So any more advice? Best regards from
Hans Kaspar

Yes, theoretically it should work, but I don't know what could be wrong with that combination. Did you also try another DirectShow player, e.g. the older WMP 6.4 (mplayer2.exe) that comes with almost all Windows installations?

"The codec with the formattag1 is unavailable." I'm not sure if the available AAC parser still works with the current CoreAAC filter, because I had no luck trying to play *.aac files with them some time ago, independent of the player.
