i'm trying to store the audio commentary from a movie as an mp3 file so that i can play it over the film in mpc if i desire.

the vob is listed as ~43 minutes in dvddecrypter.
when i use agk to encode the vob, the avi with audio comm is ~43 minutes.

however, if i encode the mp3 from the 43 minute vob using besweetgui, the mp3 file is 45 minutes. if i strip the mp3 from the 43 minute encoded avi with besweetgui, it again becomes 45 minutes.

AVIMuxGUI also made the mp3 from the avi 45 minutes long, even though it reported the track as 43.

nandub sees the avi as 43 minutes, but rips the audio WAV as 45. when i convert the wav to mp3 with besweet, i get the log line
"[00:43:38:736] Conversion Completed !"
but mpc still plays it as 45 minutes.

am i missing something? do i have a setting wrong?

UPDATE:

the problem seems to be with the player. when i play the same audio files in WMP, for example, they are 43 minutes. in BS, they are 45 minutes.

might this be some sort of header issue?
