I did some searching on this topic, but either the threads are very old, or not exactly describing my problem, so here i go:

I use latest DVD-RB with CCE SP 2.66. I used this configuration for a long time and never had any problems (at least not with CCE). But lately, CCE starts to behave strange. I had three different types of errors:

1) just hangs: Normally during the .vaf-creation, CCE at a certain spot just freezes and has to be shut down by taskmanageer. no error. If I try the same job again (with the resume function of RB), it freezes at the same point. The offending job was in both cases an extra with something like 1300 kbits/s ABR. I tried: a) swich to CBR, b) cutting down maxbitrate. The spot is a high-br-situation (flashing picture)

2) "frame size of 56(something like that) * 576 not supported...": It's not an avs error. the related avs play fine in media player.

3) "CCE init()" failed: I managed to get around this one by using the resume function.

all three errors occured at various films, wich were very different. (anime, bollywood, hollywood, ntsc, pal...) In between there was also sometimes a flawless encode, but not so often :(

I have a Pentium 2.4 with 512 MB ram. I checked my CPU temp, and it's OK. Not overclocking. I didn't check my mem with memtest or something like this, because error 1), wich bothers me most, happens always at the same spot, so I don't think it's an hardware issue. Oh, and none of the errors are prevalent at the beginning of an encode...

I would be great if someone could help me out of there or give me a hint in wich direction the problem may be...

Maybe some additional info about my matter:

OS is XP home edition, EclCCE is used, 1.8b, avisynth 2.46 build Jan 26, CCE 2.66.01.07, Mpeg2dec3dg from decodefix 110...

Oh, and I tried another film over night, (Anger management - goosfraba!!! ) ) which gave me the 1) just hangs-errors before, and this time fed it directly from the HD, not via mounted image and daemontools. This error didn't appear now, but at the morning, my girlfriend, who was first at the computer, told me there wehre two errors, probably the cce init() failed-kind....

however the rebuild step in RB worked flawlessly, and the result plays fine in PowerDVD...

I REALLY would appreciate any hints...
