View Full Version : No sound problem in a divx video

What I know is that the file is a dvd rip in divx codec (Don't know which version).
When I play it with MPC everything is ok and there's sound but when I play it in winamp (which is where I want it to work, very important for me) there's no sound but the video plays just as normal.
When I play it with Windows Media Player 9 it tries to download a codec from a server but then it fails and play the file like it does in winamp.

Any help appreciated.

Download GSpot and see what codec the file uses. Perhaps MPC has a built-in decoder.

Gspot says the video codec is DivX 3 Low-Motion.

And about the audio, it says the codec is "ac3 (0x2000) Dolby Lab, Inc.
And that there are 2 compatible codecs installed which are "Leadtek Audio Decoder" & "Nero Digital Audio Decoder".

But still I don't know how to play it in winamp.
I assume I have to install this codec in the winamp plugins dir but how do I know exactly which and how do I get it.

I got it working.
I made a search for AC3 in google and found the AC3Filter 0.70b.
Now it works in winamp.

Thanks Cyberman for the Gspot advice. I didn't know about this program.
