hello,

i have recently aquired a tv series on divx - they play in windows media player fine, yet are out of sync on my divx player.

after further study, i have found the file to have 1 second of audio missing at the beggining of the file, yet somehow windows media player can compensate for this - yet my divx hardware player con not.

now here is my question, where can i find a divx cutter/splitter that can get rid of the first second or 2 of the video while re-syncing the audio, or is there any way i can just re-sync the audio?

please help me.

regards
rob

FIRST OF ALL...

you are posting in the XviD forum, which has nothing to do with DivX aside from the fact that they are both MPEG-4 codecs.

Second...

you clearly do not own the content you speak of and thus pirated it from some source. Thus, discussion of the matter is not permitted.

Third...

You are talking about a problem with a/v sync, which also has nothing to do with xvid. This is a problem with the (likely) improperly muxed ac3/mp3 audio that does not interleave well in an AVI container.

So...
Think again and read the rules and the stickies BEFORE you post.

This thread will probably be removed or closed by the mods before long.

good riddance

thank you mr know it all...

i was looking for an answer and you nag about me posting it in the wrong section, well i'm sorry im not as mucha control freak as some people.

secondly, dont start with that whole piracy rubbish, this is a technical problem i have and where i atain the source files does not matter, oh and by the way recording tv shows isn't a crime.

any help on the actual subject would be hugely appreciated

regards
rob

rob

demux the files and then mux again...

hereAVIMux GUI (http://www-user.tu-chemnitz.de/~noe/Video-Zeug/AVIMux%20GUI/index-eng.html) could be used.

Good Luck!

actually, its relatively obvious that you didn't capture the show yourself. Otherwise you would have some idea as to what you are doing as you clearly do not.

what vinetu says is exactly the truth, but apparently you did NOT read anything before you posted somwhat mindlessly.

I dont mean to be short or nasty. we were all newbs at some point, and you have a ways to go. I was just a little pissed that the topic was in the wrong forum - you just sounded like any number of ppl that are like
"i downloaded this movie and it says its xvid but i cant play it wtf????"

just gets old when you've been a regular on the board for awhile...

sorry bout that, my post was a bit harsh, just figure out a way to word your question that isn't so blatant.

peace

Sorry, rob - but to me it seems Blue_MiSfit understood you quite correctly. If you "aquire" a TV show that has been recorded as DivX you certainly have violated some copyrights because TV shows are copryrighted and they aren't officially sold in MPEG-4 format. When I last checked you could only buy TV-series as DVDs. Case in point. If you can prove otherwise, please PM me or any other moderator. It is not like we are all witchhunters obsessed with copyright questions on this forum, we only want to protect our place from allegations of supporting copyright infringements.

You have been a member of this forum for two years, now, you should know that.

So please don't post such a question again. You very narrowly escape a strike for violating rule 6 ("No warez, cracks, serials or illegally obtained copyrighted content!") and I give you one strike for violating rule 4 ("Be nice to each other and respect the moderator. Profanity and insults will not be tolerated. ") which counts as two strikes and gets you to the brink of being banned for some time. I especially disliked the way you tried to draw attention away from the copyright-infringement thing by attacking Blue_MiSfit. Consider yourself on probation. Thread closed.
