Media Player Classic handle that like if it was xvid or any other codec. You can also merge all that in Matroska.

Gabest's Vsfilter (http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/) works great in Media Player Classic, or any other DirectShow based player, which can play RealAudio and RealVideo with realmediasplitter, either embedded in a Matroska container, or as separate files (rmvb + textfile).
In RealPlayer you can play SMIL based subs, but not general text based subs.
EDIT: The SMIL based subtitles supported in RealPlayer consist of a SMIL file referencing the A/V file along with a RealText file with the actual subtitles, a total of three files are then needed. RealPlayer will then display the presentation as a combination of the video clip and text underneath (usually) it.
I will add a paragraph in the main info thread about the various subtitle options (separate text file + RM file, embedded in Matroska, SMIL/RealText).

Please see this new thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=81980) for everything related to RealVideo and subtitles. If something is still unclear, please do ask.
