PC locking up

When I try and create a divx file (Dr Divx or Fairuse) from a dvd my pc locks up after about 20 minutes. The only way out of this is to restart my PC by removing the power.

I have tried disabling my virus checker before I start but this does not help.

I have version 5.1 of divx and I am running on windows XP

any help is gratefully received.

I would think CPU overheating.......check your fans and hardware and make sure this isn't the issue :)

Not sure what this has to do with new formats and containers though...

It is very likely related to overheating. You can check this with Motherboard Monitor
