View Full Version : Xvid burning problem??
Divxprimo

Hi I encode my own movies (in Xvid and Divx format) but seem to have a problem buring them, I use Nero and burn at even low speeds. It prompts that it has burned successfully but when it comes time to vertify the data it says error 1 file different, the video is all there but I notice that in some parts in the movie the video gets all pixely and corrupted for a few secs. This is not in the orginal, and I take it this is what Nero means as its not an exact copy of the movie.
Any help on how to burn the file exactly (useing different software perhaps). Nero is pissing me off cause I burned like 5 movies with this error occuring and thought all was well since the video was all there on the disk and earse the orginal on my Hdd, now I find out that in some parts in my movie its gets are corrupted!!
Thanks

i fail to see how the kind of data should have an influence on correct burning :/ This is kind of like "photoshop refuses to open nude pictures". Maybe your harddrives are heavily fragmented or something else prevents your burner from _recieving_ the correct data if the amount of data is big. Because the only think i could see how this should be different from burning other data is that maybe you usually do not burn such large amounts at once?

This is definitely not a xvid issue.
Go to the hard- or software section for answers.
Just some small hints:
Bad media (cheap cd's)
Fragmented HD.
DMA Modus not enabled.(Hd and Cd)
CD Burner not accurately recognized by nero.
Update nero.

P.S.: I burn at 52x and all cd's play flawless on my standalone.
...and never, ever had bad sectors....:D

Sometimes even re-installing the software helps. Or try using an alternative like burnatonce.

I recently had lots of problems with nVidia's disk controller driver. In theory, this new version doesn't cause problems. In practice my dvd reading and writing speed was limited to about x2.2 (Nero's CD/DVD-speed had a flat curve at this value). Of course buring at x4 or x6 couldn't really work well....

Since Photoshop already refuses to open scans of Euro and Dollar banknotes I don't think this is such a good analogy... ;)
