View Full Version : Fix subtitle problem

I have a DVDR here which has problems with the subtitles.
About the bottom half of the subs isn't shown on the picture. The place where the bottom half should have been lies in the normal movie picture (not outside, in the black bars or below).
Is it possible to edit the ifo to fix this? Maybe change the coordinates of the subs?
Or do I need another program?

*bump*
Can someone at least point me in the right direction?
Where are the subtitle properties (such as location/coordinates, color) stored? In the vob or in the ifo?
And if they're stored in the ifo, where do I find them?
[edit]
Okay, good point...
Would an admin please move this post? Thanks!

Sorry, I'm not a subtitle guru but if you had posted in the SubTitles forum, you probably would've gotten better responses. Though you posted here already, keep in mind of the crossposting rule. Hopefully a Moderator will come along and move it there for you if they concur.

The subtitles coordinates are in the VOB. It is not possible to edit them manually...
DVDFab has an option to move subtitles. But take care: the subtitles are OK when playing the DVD on a PC, but most of them are missing when played on my standalone Sony player. Probably a DVDFab bug (unfortunately in both the old, freeware version, and the new shareware.)
There is another old free tool to do the same job (I don't remember the name), but with the same problem.
You may also try the old and not verry reliable srt2sup freeware, but you will need to extract the subtitles with subrip, then reencode them with srt2sup and remux the VOB with IfoEdit. And I'm not sure that the result will play correctly on a standalone...
