I had a problem when reauthoring Finding Nemo Region 2, and the cause of the problem is that the movie has two angles but only for the starting and ending credits (both in english and italian language). Well I used the guide for nemo R1 (using ifoupdate's acm), but changing the rip method: I ripped by vob id. so here there are the two spots where the angles are (from the original ifo):
Starting credits
[Ch 01] [Pg 01] [Cell 01] [V/C Id: 25/1] : time: 00:01:29.02 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:01:29.02] [Frames: 2227] SP/ILVU/DISC/SA:[ no/ no/yes/ no]
[Cell 02] [V/C Id: 25/2] : time: 00:00:08.05 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:01:37.07] [Frames: 2432] SP/ILVU/DISC/SA:[yes/ no/ no/ no]
[Cell 03] [V/C Id: 25/3] : time: 00:02:11.23 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:03:49.05] [Frames: 5730] SP/ILVU/DISC/SA:[yes/ no/ no/ no]
[Ch 02] [Pg 02] [Cell 04] [V/C Id: 26/1] (Angle 1): time: 00:01:14.01 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:05:03.06] [Frames: 7581] SP/ILVU/DISC/SA:[yes/yes/yes/yes]
[Cell 05] [V/C Id: 27/1] (Angle 2): time: 00:01:14.01 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:05:03.06] [Frames: 7581] SP/ILVU/DISC/SA:[yes/yes/yes/yes]
[Ch 03] [Pg 03] [Cell 06] [V/C Id: 26/2] (Angle 1): time: 00:00:14.09 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:05:17.15] [Frames: 7940] SP/ILVU/DISC/SA:[yes/yes/ no/yes]
[Cell 07] [V/C Id: 27/2] (Angle 2): time: 00:00:14.09 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:05:17.15] [Frames: 7940] SP/ILVU/DISC/SA:[yes/yes/ no/yes]
Ending Credits
[Ch 32] [Pg 32] [Cell 126] [C/C Id: 33/1] (Angle 1): time: 00:06:39.15 / 25 fps [Pos: 01:35:55.10] [Frames: 143885] SP/ILVU/DISC/SA:[yes/yes/yes/yes]
[Cell 127] [C/C Id: 34/1] (Angle 2): time: 00:06:39.15 / 25 fps [Pos: 01:35:55.10] [Frames: 143885] SP/ILVU/DISC/SA:[yes/yes/yes/yes]
I'll describe the VTS1 structure. There is pgc 1 that has the main movie, pgc 2 that has the movie plus the video commentary inside it, then there is pgc 3 that only has the vob ids relative to the video commentary (not the movie). From pgc 4 to pgc 62 there are the various vobids (in the same order as pgc 3), one for pgc plus one vobid 24 at the end (a dummy cell). Pgc 24 also only has vobid 24 and pgc 62 has vobid 62 (another dummy). When I try to open the vob chain with DVD2AVI I notice that there are first some scenes of the video commentary, then the entire movie, then other scenes of the commentary. Well, when the demux (by vob id) is finished, i had 62 video files. Vob ids from 1 to 24 were the scenes of the commentary that I saw from DVD2AVI, specifically the first ones, ant then vobids 25 to 35 were the movie (as in DVD2AVI), then the last vobids were the left scene of the commentary (another time as in DVD2AVI). So, the vob structure is in vobid order, except for the angles vobids. If I open the vts1 vob chain in dvd2avi and I go to the angles points, I notice the same thing of Star Wars Episode I or II: the video swaps about every 3 seconds (I don't know exactly how) between the first and the second angle. As you can see from the ifo, in the starting credits there is also a chapter. If I open Ifoupdate and I see the graphical illustration necessary to see the order of the vobids to use acm, I notice that ifoupdate needs vobids 26 and 27 in this position: vobid26 cell 1, vobid 27 cell 1, vobid 26 cell 2, vobid 27 cell 2. So, I encoded the menus with numenu4u 1.02, and doing the afore mentioned thing with ifoupdate, that order is changed to: vobid26 cell 1, vobid 26 cell 2, vobid 27 cell 1, vobid 27 cell 2. This is a bit strange. Then I encoded all the vobid files, created a scenarist project with a track for every vobid, assigning audio tracks and subtitles, setting cell points for the vobids that wanted them (only the movie ones), then I used the same method of Eyes'only nemo guide: I created one title, one pgc, then put all the cells in the correct order (with only one chapter as explained in the guide), in particular, i putted vobid 26 and 27 in the original ifo's order: vobid26 cell 1, vobid 27 cell 1, vobid 26 cell 2, vobid 27 cell 2. I compile the project, and I paste only the vobs in the folder that contains the other vtses (reauthored and not), and the video_ts.ifo, video_ts.bup, vts_01_0.bup, vts_01_0.ifo vts_01_0.vob created by numenu4u. They all work with no problem, including menus. So, I ifoupdated with acm without any error, and with these settings: Transfer VTS_C_ADT Table, copy color table in each PGC, VTS_TMATPI Table Transfer (Time Map), Adjust VTS_TMATPI and ADMAP sizes, Autocorrect VTS sectors (when updating), autoanalyze original ifo (when specified) and adjusted cell mode. I also tried other settings combination, and don't worri about audio and subpicture tables, in scenarist I've set them to not specified. So, it seems all to be perfect, but opening the new vob chain in DVD2AVI, I notice that the first angle point doesn't swaps beetween the two angles, but it has first the on and then the second. The same for the credits. I forgot to say two things: when playing the movie you can switch beetween the two angles, and then that before the DVD starts you can choose the menu language: english or italian. If you choose eng, when you play angle 1 (english credits) is selected. Same thing with Italian, but with angle 2. Well, playing with Power DVD the reauthored DVD, and selecting italian or english menu, there are various problems:
1-With the seek line I can't go to angle points
2-The chapter contained in the starting credits (and they have an angle) it isn't selectable, if I select it, it returns to main menu
3-If I wait that the movie arrives to the first angle point, it plays correctly, with the properly language!!! Also the ending credits! But if I go with the seek line too close to the ending credits' angle (not precisely over it), it gets me to a previous part of the movie, but the seek line is at the right point! And it continues playing from that point!
4-If I select the video commentary, it plays correctly, but I cannot seek with the seek line. The angles seems to be correct.
Sorry if the post is very long, but PLEASE, HELP ME!! I'M GETTING CRAZY!!! And maybe if I solve the problem, this post can be helpful to other people with the same problem. I'am also thinking: in the site there is the guide when and when not demux by vob id guide, with an example from star wars I, that has a very similar structure, and you don't make a guide for that tipe of DVD? This is the only bad thing of doom9.org.
