I would like to know if there is a way to fix the audio from an avi file or just remove it and re-encode it then add it back. I have avi's that shows an error saying "VirtualDub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI file and will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values duing the processing for better compatibility." Does that mean VirtualDub can't re-encode avis with audio encoded with VBR? if so how do I change it to CBR or other.

Use Nandub or VirtualDubMod, they can handle vbr.

Hi. Demux you avi file with VirtualDub or VirtualBubMod, then convert your VBR mp3 into CBR mp3 using any audio converter (I recomend BeSweet)
and then, remux your avi with AVI-Mux_GUI.
That should work.
Greetings! :)

That should work. Why not simply use AVI-mux to do the de-muxing too... That's what I do?

If using beesweet is to change it to CBR I can use nandub no problem, my main problem sir is how to change the divx3 codec on the video since no nandub, virtualdub etc won't allow me to edit an avi with divx3 video codec, and those programs are supposed to edit avi files.

DivX3 eh!

I can't help you with this as DivX3 is a hacked version of Micro$softs Mpeg4 v3 codec.

Nandub is one of the only tools you can use to manipulate DivX3 but I don't know how far you can go with it.
