newbie to the Big 3 here...just wondering how long the whole encoding process takes most of you guys. i realize this depends on number of VTS's, speed of computer processor, etc.
just wanting to take a poll.

You're absolutely correct. There are so many variables that it's impossible to make a general statement.
I do know that my encoding is finished the next day, after starting it before going to bed :D

i started mine at midnight, and it went for 30 hours without finishing...had 3 VTS's...had to quit, not sure why it was taking so long. but i don't think it should take that long!

Well like I already said, it's hard to make a general statement but:
30 hours would seem slow to me (but hey maybe you have a p3-450 with 128 MB ram and you're doing a 9 pass encode ;) ).
