View Full Version : The 120fps input of Producer is required, isn't it ?

Probably, an output will be good even at 60fps, present condition that's right.
However, an input's permission of even 120fps spreads the utility value of Producer.
120fps source -> NULL frames drop by Producer DropDupe -> True VFR RMVB
If this is made Also as opposed to hybrid material It becomes convenient just like WMV9.
Is extending an input by 120fps difficult as a practical question?

How is WMV9 better? Please explain.

I think input is limited to 60FPS since no one asked for more :) Please fill a bug report on Helix Community.

@iwod
They are not problems, such as quality of image.
A WMV container receives a 120fps input through WME (removing NULL frames possibly), and can output fake or true VFR.
About the advantage of Progressive VFR, see also:

@Sirber
I am whether to be able to find the place within 10 clicks ? :p
However, is this the kind of a bug ?
I will report, if I can.

It's a feature request.

Not continuing not understanding well ...
Although the bug report was registered, if it often looks at, the bug fix staff is assigned to ME !
Is there any method of changing the assigned personnel? :D
Are they prior contact and necessity?
Sirber

Edit it and set it to "stevemc". Add "sirber" in "Contact" as well as "karll". Good luck :)

ok, not too bad, since it's input related. Good work in helping us (not me!, I mean, not me directly :o) grow :D

hehe :D
That bug report was changed into TRIAGE. Repair will become when!
RV10 will become effective just like WMV9 functionally, when repair is carried out.
I want to ask the duty of QA Contact of Sirber well.:p

Wait a minute, I don't work for RealNetworks... yet :p

@Sirber
Priority and severity were changed into TRIAGE.
However, I specified the reason and raised severity to S2. :D
It is because it thought that that I did not change priority also had the convenience by the side of development.
btw Aren't such talks made in HC? Doing-by mail or mailinglist?
Sirber
31st August 2004, 02:48
Yes, mailing list, but mailing it don't accelerate things.
Sirber

Changed priority from 'TRIAGE' to 'P4'
Changed assigned_to from 'sorin' to 'sirber'
Changed bug_status from 'NEW' to 'RESOLVED'
Changed bug_severity from 'S2' to 'S3'
Added resolution value 'WONTFIX'
Max frame rate supported is 60 FPS. Human perception doesn't go higher.
Gonna shake them

Please be aware that not everyone is aware of the usefulness of 120 fps support, but I am sure Sirber will explain this in the bug report, such that it will be well documented there as well.

Explaining the justification for existence of 120fps to Helix team is likely to run into difficulties.
It seems that he does not understand my comment to it, either.
Is enlightenment by MailingList required? :(
Sirber

Yes, if you want to have infos from other posters.

oh, I am sorry, I thought it was a bug filed by Sirber, but now I see it was you, lunaticmoon. I notice Sirber has already added an explanation: "This is not about human perception, it's about hybrid anime content. The best way to deal with that is to go for 120FPS input and drop unwanted frames (with DropDupe) to get 24FPS and 30FPS scenes. Please read at: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=81459 http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=80882". Feel free to add anything else, but I can not promise how the problem will be prioritized.

If we can came up with a 60FPS solution it would be great! It will also leave more time to the devs to correct the leaking bug :o

NULL frame is unnecessary.
If true VFR of 60fps can be outputted, the hybrid material problem of Anime will also be solved in general.
Although people of my country expected it to RV9/10, in DeinterlaceAuto pre-filter or DropDupe pre-filter, it was unrealizable.
Combing detection accuracy of the former is low. Smoothness to the extent that they satisfy the latter is not obtained, but becomes conversely awkward less.
Many of they separated from RV 9/10, and the person treating a documentary film remained. It seems that RV 9/10 is popular in general for documentary films.
I think that improvement of pre-filter of Producer seems to be difficult, and think that I proposed the method of dropping the frame which existing 120fps technology does not need. (It is not a very desirable method)
In VCM codec, although it is already realizable with DecombVFR, since that is not right, RV 9/10 is sorry about the ability of the benefit not to receive.
Although quality of image was very for Animes, the ease of using by which RV9/10 used Anime as the target is less than others.
It is regrettable although it has the feature that VFR can be treated freely.
