OK, i bought the LOTR Trilogy just after it came out here in the uk, now ive only just got round to watching it and i was going to watch one each night.I watch FOTR last night and tonight i went to watch TTT but for some reason my dvd player wont play it. ROTK plays but TTT wont, theres no scratch's the disc is perfect, it gets past the copyright thing then gets to a blue screen with a triangle and some text then it just hangs. Has anyone else had any problems playing TTT or have read of a problem like this. I have a Mico A980S, ive not had a problem like this before, this is the only disc that does it.

have you tried pausing just before the glitch, then trying to skip chapter, or fast-forward?
there's a bunch of things it could be... i have a few discs that glitch out and stop playing on my machine, and it drives me berserker.
by all means ring the DVD authoring people and tell them about it - they'd be happy (or alarmed) to find out about this, as their QC people might not have caught this problem on their test equipment. they might even send you a new copy out of apology. make sure you tell them the model number and stuff like that.

I have had this problem with TTT extended , on my pc, which got solved by temporarily disabling the cd rom drive . It stopped hanging then. (But then it's working now regardless, so I'm not sure it wasn't a coincidence). Not much of a help, but just telling you it's not you personally, there is something in that DVD ;)

ah. that's a pity. all user actions are prohibited right where the glitch occurs, huh?
i really wish there were no prohibited user actions on DVDs. it is perhaps the most abused privilege that is granted a DVD author.
my futurama DVDs have copyright messages for almost every country anywhere on the region 4 disc. they appear at the end of every episode (rather than just at the start of the disc) and can't be skipped, paused, or even stopped on.
actions like that actually encourage people to rip their DVDs, disable user prohibitions, and re-burn. kinda runs contra to the reason those awful messages were put there in the first place... but i digress :)

So does anyone have a clue as to what would case this to not playback on my player.... ? i would say its something with the disc as this is the first disc that wont play on my player.
Yeah those user prohibited things dont bother me to much except when theres trailers at the beginning and they wont let you skip them.
