Doitfast4u 1.4.0.0
Sceneaid 1.0.0.0 Pre-release 6

I took the vsrip/vsconv file from the Sceneaid 1.0 install package and replaced the vsrip/vsconv in the doitfast4u directory with these files (they were newer). Now I get this compile problem in Scenarist. Shouldn't I be using the same versions of vsrip/vsconv in both doitfast4u and sceneaid?

yes both versions should be the same, and scenaid should have installed them in the DIF4U program directory.

as for your error, its a simple one.
if you had used the search you may have come across this thread, or many others:

Thanks! I'm stopping my re-rip of the subs now using the old versions of vsconv/vsrip. It worked fine with the old versions the first time, but the sub colors were wrong. Then I installed the new versions from the sceneaid directory to the doitfast4u directory, then started the whole project over and got these errors. This tells me something is wrong with the 'New' vsconv/vsrip. I did all this in an effort to get yellow subs.

On a different note, I had deleted all my old scenarist scripts, now when I try to use sceneaid to generate them again, it's not recognizing the VTS_01 folder. Any ideas?

are you sure all you deleted was your ScenAid27.SCP file?
sounds like you deleted/moved something crirical.
try pointing ReAuthorist at the demux directory and see if it recognises it.

I must have deleted something - ReAuthorist blows up and just closes itself.

I'm re-de-muxing now.

Can I just copy the BatchCCE files into the appropriate directories and then try Sceneaid again? It just takes so long to encode.....

Thanks.

yes, just copy your .M2V files into your new demux directory. make sure they all end up in the same relative location/folder.

nothing changed in vsrip/vsconf that would change time codes.... hmmm

if all your trying to get is yellow subs, then select "Use scenarist palette, YELLOW" in scenaid

Thanks for the help everyone.

Using the new vsrip/vsconv for the 3rd time did have the subtitles (2)overlapped while using the old versions did not.

However, with the new versions and Sceneaid set to original palette, the subs came out the right colors, while with the old versions they did not.

I'm experiencing the same problems. Overlapping subs, which have really strange end codes (probably caused by the fact they are only two frames long). The sst files are correct, but the script isn't.

I'm also experiencing oversize problems lately. I'm thinking the new vsrip/vsconf are the cause of that. The sub dirs are about 1-2 GB big. Dif4u takes those into account, resulting in a too low bitrate. RA doesn't take the sub dirs into account, which leads to a correct bitrate.

i don't see how the new vsrip/vsconv would make the size of your subtitles change... there's nothing different as far as bmp creation is concerned...

I'll double check though...

I can't exactly put my finger on it, but checked with eyes`only and he says the dif4u bitrate clac takes the size of the subs into account. Strange thing is that this oversizing has started to occur after updating scenaid. Dif4u hasn't changed.

D3s7

only thing I could think of is if the compression of the bmp's isn't working..

I'll have to look at the code and see what's going on..

although wouldn't it be undersizing instead of over if that was the case?

influenza

Well my sub dirs end up being about 1-2 GB. And yes you're right it will end up being undersized ;) I mean that the bitrate is way too low, sorry for the confusion.

I was going to say..

Ok.. compression was off for the bmp's... I added it back in (shot you the new build flu) so that should fix that part

I'm almost finished correcting the overlap issue on the bmp's.

Shall I add an option to remove subs < 1sec or just remove them all together?

@D3s7
I've gotten the same problem.
The fix that you commented should resolve this problem?

I described all facts below.

I've used the follow guide: http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/scenaid.htm

However, I used ScenAid-ccedata.txt in the BatchCCEWS for encode the movie -"Finding Nemo"- instead of
ccedata.txt generated by DIF4U, in according to ScenAid Help.

Everything occurred fine, but when I imported the script ScenAid30.SCP from Scenarist, I got many errors and
warnings like:

Info Importing VTS1_P2_00_35
Error Class(Sub-Picture) Tag(Data End Time, 7203) failed to paste
Error Class(Display Stop) Tag(Start Time To Video, -255839543)failed to paste

subpicture start time or scene start time.

I ignored these errors and warnings, according to suggests that I found in this forum, and when I compiled it I got
more errors and warnings:

Warning The subpicture (stream 1 in Video Track "VTS01_002_Track") is across scene break at
00:02:34:00. The subpicture will not display when jumping into the scene. Please adjust the

"VTS1_Title12".
Error Once an subpicture availability is disabled, all subsequent subpicture streams must
also be disabled. Please change in the Property Browser for Title "VTS1_Title12".

In according to others tips of this forum, I fixed the "Subpicture Availability Flag Policy" in the "Scenario Editor"'s
"Property Window" of Scenarist for "Adjust maximum streams in this title".

When I compiled again, I got the same error quote at begin this thread:

Info Multiplexing VOB Main Stream
Error Subpicture[1] (1:VTS1_P2_00_1775.sp) and (2:VTS1_P2_00_1.sp) offset are overlapped

Error dvd_mux : Open Mux_list File Error

Error Multiplex is failed.
Error Multiplexing failed, Track "VTS01_002_Track"

Error MuxFromDB:MuxVTS failed
Error Multiplex failed
Error DVD Video files could not be created

I tried to fix it using the suggests of http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=75934 , but I couldn't
to make it because exists a lot of overlapped subpicture.

Finally, I tried to import the sst files manually, but I got:

Error The start time should be smaller than end_time. [00:10:05:22 - 00:10:05:22]
Error The start time should be smaller than end_time. [00:10:05:22 - 00:10:05:22]
Error Timecode is overlapping at this sub-picture. [00:08:24:15 - 00:15:51:06]

One piece of file sst corresponding to errors above follow below:

Have anyone another suggest?

Thanks in advance,

Alex

hi Alex100 and welcome to the forum!

well i must start off by saying how good it is to see a new user do some research on an issue. gold star for you! :D

now, as for options:

1. put the project on hold until D3s7 releases a new version of scenaid that fixes the subs issue

2. re-rip the subs with an earlier version of vsrip/vsconv (you can do this by re-installing DIF4U, and import manually into scenarist, making sure to check the colours of the subs in the simulation window prior to compiling.

you could also try re-ripping the subs using subrip (avaliable from the download section of doom9) but once again you will have to adjust the colours manually.

you have 2 issues here, 1st is the current released version of Scenaid has an issue adjusting subs which I'm hoping is more or less resolved with the newer build I'm polishing up. 2nd is the SST you have does show an interesting case.. end time is < start time. I may have an idea on what caused this but will have to verify via source. Jel is possibly correct that going back to an earlier version of vsrip/conv will help you but if you can wait another day or so, I'd recommend just putting it on hold till I can release this new version
