pcm in scenarist

I have a pcm audio track for a scenarist project. Browsing the tracks properties in scenarist, I noticed the following selectable values: Dynamic Range X and Dynamic Range Y. DRx can be set from 0 to 7, mine is set at 4, default I'm assuming. DRy can be set from 0 to 29, mine is at 0. I've searched the manual several times and can find no explanation, not even a reference to it. Does anyone know what changing these values will do, can output quality be improved?
